The Archaeological Museum has as official denomination of ‘Museo Civico Archeologico delle Acque di Chianciano Terme (Civic Archaeological Museum of the Waters of Chianciano Terme). This title could be perceived as confusing, however it was selected in order to highlight the inextricable link which, since prehistory, has tied the population of this territory with its waters, particularly its thermal ones. Not by chance in fact, the cult buildings discovered within the territory were situated in close proximity to the Thermal springs, which are still used for their healing and therapeutic properties today.
